This couple had an energy about them that made for a fantastic engagement session. They loved getting nice and close and loved kissing in the rain! I love it when my clients are prepared to… More
Love is one of life’s most precious gifts. It is one of the reasons I am so passionate about my job. I cherish being a part of a couples journey, capturing their emotions for them to keep forever.
I had the privilege of capturing Tobias and Elet on a glorious day, shared with their relatives and friends who came from all corners to join in celebrating the fact that these two found in each other, the perfect harmony.
Wit both of them involved in music in some way, the wedding was bound to be something special. I couldn’t believe it when Tobias played the wedding processional music himself.
The details of the day, were created with so much love by family and friends, from the Candelabras, to the bridesmaid dresses and the gorgeous cheese tower cake. It truly was a day to be remembered by all.
I feel so blessed to have been a part of it.
I first met the Chiloane Family in 2016 when I was booked to capture their daughters’ birthday party at The Splat Company in Nelspruit.
We had such a blast and I was over the moon when I received the call from Gwendoline asking to book a full family portrait session. The venue we decided on is one of my favourite Lowveld treasures, The Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately we had to reschedule the session a number of times due to the Rainy weather we had each weekend (though I will never complain about rescheduling for that reason).
They had a blast and their three kids were just too adorable, here are some of the images from the session.
We have been having lovely wet weather in the beautiful Lowveld lately. Only problem when your a lifestyle Photographer is your shoots often get re-scheduled due to the wet conditions. On this Lovely Sunday the storm clouds were once again threatening to interrupt our scheduled session. I was so happy when Riette and Gerrit were still keen to brave the weather, and the weather held up and we had a great shoot with little cutie Lukas.
“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”

One of the saddest days in my career was when a client phoned me and described her absolute heartbreak to me. Her son had passed away at the age of only 19, and the last photos of him she had where he wasn’t in a school or sport uniform was when he was 5! My heart went out to this poor woman so much! Over the phone I could hear her intense regret! Her regret of never taking the time to take his picture… I don’t want to scare you, I just want you to realize, photos are so important!
I am such a nostalgic person (which suits my job perfectly of course) . I constantly find myself looking at pictures of my kids and feeling so sad when I see how they have grown and how they have changed. When do we stop looking at our kids this way, cherishing each milestone, drinking in each moment of their fantastic lives?
A recent shoot reminded me once again that moments are still important! Take pictures of your kids! Even if they complain or go through the moody teenager phase. And even more important, be in pictures with them. Don’t let your own self conscious insecurities stop you from being in the memories too. When you look back on all these shared moments it will mean the world to see that you were there for them. It is such an important part of life! Captured moments make memories we can cherish forever!
I’ve had the privilege of working with this fantastic family before. These guys! I’ve got to tell you, they make my day!
I am so used to capturing Families with little kids, by the way , why do we stop taking pictures of our kids when they grow up? Read more about my opinion regarding this here. That I jumped at the chance when Lizl called and asked to do a session with their 4 full grown teenage sons!
We did a shoot together last year on their farm in Nelspruit and I couldn’t believe how the farm has changed! The Macadamia trees are gorgeous, the view is spectacular and the view is breathtaking. We all had a blast!
…. these guys had such a blast! Showering each other in bright colours. But I suppose that’s to be expected when you have three brothers together! I just love the colours and how each persons face turned out!
Thanks guys! Thanks for being such good sports!! Just look at the one of a kind images we have as a result!
Wow!! WHAT A SESSION!!! For as long as I can remember I have wanted to do a Paint bomb Session! Finally a Client was keen to try it! I think the fact that we have worked together a couple of times before made it easier for everyone to jump on board!
For Danie’s 60th birthday, their whole family got together for the first time in a while, what better opportunity to get everyone in front of a camera!
At first all was good and CLEAN…
And then the FUN began…
See the amazing images in the next post…
I always feel so blessed when I get the oppurtunity to capture the miracle of a pregnancy. Having had pregnancies of my own (succesful and not), I really get how special this time is for a couple.
Ansie and I met over a year ago, and when she phoned to ask if I could take some shots of them I literally jumped at the chance!
I can’t wait to meet the little miracle that is Zak!
I feel so blessed when I get to be a recurring part of a family’s journey.
This was the case when I captured Abia for her second birthday this past weekend. With a Minnie mouse theme, beautiful Lowveld weather and all your near and dear ones there to celebrate, what could be better?
The party was planned to the finest detail and Marcel and Anika went to so much trouble for their little ones’ day. Anika did such an amazing job with the decorations, party packs and cake.
Thanks for letting me be a part of the festivities.
Abia, I hope you have a blessed year and that there will be many more special days to come (that I can be a part of, of course).
